November 13th, 2014
We will be beginning our Safe Welcome program On Monday, November 17. All outside doors at Centennial will be locked. All visitors (parents, vendors, central Board staff) to our school will enter the main doors to the school using an intercom system. Adults will not be granted access through any of the other doors. All visitors will then report to and sign in at the office.
All visitors arriving to the Childcare and to our Before and After School Programs will use the intercom system outside of the childcare doors. They will then report directly to the program location.
Only staff will be allowed to open the main door for our visitors. Students will be instructed not to open any door for any adult. Students entering from the portable will have a special key card that they will use throughout the day. Students will be able to enter the school during nutrition breaks by using the special key cards that we have for this purpose.
We recognize that having all school doors locked will be new for our school community. We thank you in advance for working together with us by following this new process to ensure the safety of our children.
If you have any further questions regarding the Safe Welcome program, please feel free to contact the school.
